At Agape Red it is important for us to be connected and support our community. That is why my position, Community Liaison, is part of the team. Building a bridge between us and the community, getting involved, and being supportive of everything local in tech is a good description of some of my responsibilities.

Since day one I have been volunteering at and attending local tech events; some of these events have been Careerockit, Startup Week, Startup Collaborative parties, the YP Summit, BarCamp, Big Omaha, TechOmaha happy hours and various meetups each week.

We also love to share our space for various groups to gather and learn. We have hosted students for tours, presentations, all day workshops, and even have sponsored groups of students to attend conferences like the NEJS Conf (Nebraska JavaScript Conference). By opening our doors and offering some of our time to students and adults, we showcase how great and supportive the tech community is in Omaha, while at the same time motivating and inspiring this talent to join us.

Promoting education and supporting learning is extremely important at at Agape Red. The main reason we sponsor so many of these events is because we value learning. For us it is equally important to work and deliver great software, while at the same time give back to the community that has helped us get to where we are today.

We are always looking for ways to help our community and get more involved.
